As educators, we are often faced with the “chicken or the egg” scenario where we find ourselves asking what came first. For any given individual there is always the discussion of whether mental wellness affects learning, or learning habits affect mental wellness. This recurring dilemma is our inspiration for founding Healthy Learning MTL.

Parents, educators, mental health professionals, and students are often left asking why they are having difficulty and what resources they can access to get help. Our mission at Healthy Learning MTL is to provide resources in many forms for different types of stakeholders in a child’s learning. Here’s what we can offer:

For Students

We offer information, strategies and resources related to effective study habits that not only promote academic success, but also encourage healthy habits and mental health. Some topics include managing test anxiety, dealing with perfectionism, establishing strong study habits, and general stress management and self-care.

For Educators & School Mental Health Professionals

Filtering through research and updated best practices can be time consuming for educators. To assist in this process we provide research summaries in our blogs and links to research articles. You can also follow our Twitter account @HealthyMTL for resources.

As educators and researchers, we provide detailed lesson plans for teachers with user friendly guides for promoting stress management and the development of executive skills in the classroom. For school mental health professionals, such as counselors and school psychologists, you can always contact us for consultation or to schedule workshops.

For Parents

Parents have the difficult task of finding the best available supports for their children. Use our website to explore resources that are available in the Montreal community and online. Follow us on Facebook page for Healthy Learning MTL for information regarding community events, resources, talks, and general information.
Whether you are a parent, educator, student, or school mental health professional, we hope that you will find Healthy Learning MTL to be a valuable resource. For more information or questions please feel free to contact us.
